Arizona Booster Club Fundraising Powered by Our 501(c)(3)
Arizona booster clubs and parent organizations use Arizona Boosters Foundation to run tax-deductible fundraising campaigns without forming their own nonprofit. Our EIN covers you — you keep the focus on your program.
Most Arizona Booster Clubs Lack 501(c)(3) Status
You show up to every game. You plan the team dinners. You coordinate the fundraisers. But when it comes time to make your booster club’s donations tax-deductible — that’s where most parent groups hit a wall.
Forming your own nonprofit means attorney fees, IRS filing, months of waiting, and ongoing compliance work. Most booster clubs can’t justify that overhead — and they shouldn’t have to. Parents running bake sales and car washes shouldn’t need a tax attorney.
Arizona Boosters Foundation exists to solve exactly this problem. When your booster club runs a fundraiser under our 501(c)(3) umbrella, your donors receive the same tax-deductible receipt they would if they donated to any established nonprofit — because they did.
Raise Under Our Established 501(c)(3)
ABF (Tax ID 39-3080525) is an established, IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. When your booster club fundraises through us, you’re not starting from scratch — you’re tapping into infrastructure that already exists.
- No EIN required — your booster club doesn’t need its own tax ID
- 501(c)(3) backing — donors give to a recognized public charity and receive a written acknowledgment
- No filing fees or attorney costs — zero upfront investment to get started
- Ongoing compliance handled by ABF — we maintain the nonprofit status
- Bigger donations — giving through an established nonprofit consistently increases average gift size
Booster Club Fundraising Ideas That Work in Arizona
The best fundraiser is the one your community will actually support. Here are approaches that Arizona booster clubs run successfully through ABF every season.
Donation Drives
A simple, shareable campaign page where parents, alumni, and community members give directly. Because donations are tax-deductible through ABF, you attract gifts from businesses and higher-income donors who want the receipt.
Peer-to-Peer Campaigns
Each player becomes a fundraiser, sharing their personal campaign link. Team-wide campaigns running under ABF’s umbrella get results because every donation counts as a charitable gift.
Ripped Jerky Team Campaign
Arizona teams sell premium Ripped Jerky products and earn 20% of all sales back to the program. Players love selling something tangible — and the product sells itself. See details on the Ripped Jerky program.
Business Sponsorship Outreach
Local businesses often want to support youth sports but need a tax receipt to justify the expense to their accountants. ABF’s 501(c)(3) status makes your booster club’s sponsorship asks dramatically more effective.
Season-Long Program Ads
Recognize supporting businesses in game programs, on team banners, or on your team’s social media. Note that payments for advertising are treated differently from charitable sponsorship acknowledgments, and may not be deductible as charitable contributions — businesses should consult their own tax advisor.
Event-Based Fundraisers
Golf tournaments, dinners, auctions, 5K races. ABF can help structure your booster club events. Where an attendee receives goods or services — a meal, greens fees, an auction item — only the amount paid above the fair market value of those benefits may be deductible, and we provide the written disclosure required for those payments.

Arizona Booster Club Fundraising — FAQs
Do Arizona booster clubs need to be registered nonprofits to use ABF?
No. You raise funds under Arizona Boosters Foundation’s established 501(c)(3). Your booster club does not need its own EIN, nonprofit registration, or legal entity. We extend our status to your program.
What happens to the money raised?
Funds raised through ABF-backed campaigns are designated for your team’s program costs. We work with you to ensure the money goes where it’s needed — travel, equipment, training, meals, or whatever your booster club has identified as a priority.
Can an existing booster club with its own EIN still partner with ABF?
Yes. Even booster clubs that already have their own nonprofit status partner with ABF to access our resource network — discounts, meal prep, team stores, and more. The 501(c)(3) umbrella is just one of many ways we support Arizona booster clubs.
What sports and school types can use ABF?
Any Arizona youth sport. High school varsity and JV programs, club teams, recreational leagues, travel teams, and independent athletic programs. Public, charter, private, and homeschool programs all qualify.
